About Me

Hi! My name is Brice, and I am currently a student at Leopold R-III High School. I live on a small cattle farm in the same town, but plan on moving away sometime after I graduate college. I am generally a laid-back person, but am a hustler when it comes to achieving my goals.

Family

I have one brother, Jace, someone I (surprisingly) get along really well with. He enjoys baseball and hanging out with the coolest sister in the world.

My parents' names are Bobby and Kristi. They have been together for 34 years and married for 22, and have worked hard to make a good life for themselves and thier family.

I have two grandmothers, named Ann and Marilyn, who quite possibly may be the two holiest people I've ever met. Marilyn is the daughter of my great-grandma Gladys, a woman who had a big brain and an even bigger heart. She died in 2013.

My two grandmothers survive my three grandfather's--Raymond (Bob), Pop (Robert), and Papa Wayne (Wayne Whitener). Pop was a small-town farmer who drove a bus for Leopold School, and was an active member in both his church and community. He died of pancreatic cancer in 2007. Grandpa was a World War II veteran and the founder of the Old Appleton Triathalon, serving as an inspiration to hundreds of people with his positive attitude and unbroken spirit. He died of Parkinson's disease in 2009. Papa Wayne was President of the Marble Hill American Legion Post (something that he was very proud of) and died of brain cancer in 2007.

Activites

I am involved in many school clubs and teams, such as:

  1. Volleyball (Offside hitter)
  2. Softball (Outfield and catcher)
  3. Cheerleading (2016-2017 Co-Captain)
  4. Robotics Club (Programmer)
  5. Pep Club
  6. Business Club
  7. Scholar Bowl
  8. BETA Club

Hobbies

In my free time, I enjoy a variety of outdoor activities, including running, mountain biking, and hiking. I also enjoy choreographing and translating the art of dance, especially in the disciplines of modern technique and classical ballet. Another passion of mine is public speaking, which I practice by entering in several speech competitions every year, along with honing my writing skills by competing in several essay and creative writing contests.

I also am active in my church's youth group, SJSAYG.

Future Plans

"I am the master of my fate: I am the captain of my soul." -Invictus, William Ernest Henley

I plan on attending a university when I gradaute high school. Some of my prospective schools include Webster University, St. Louis University, Caltech, Purdue, and the University of Missouri. However, my dream college would be Vanderbilt (but only if I can get a full ride!). I also plan on spending a weekend at a convent in St. Louis to see if the religious life may be my calling.

I havn't quite decided what I want to major in yet, but I'm sure that it will be revealed to me in time. Some of my dream jobs include being an author, Broadway performer, or a business CEO. As for logical career goals, however, I would like to take my interst in math and science and become a genetic researcher or a programming technician for a company like NASA or SpaceX. Basically, I would like to make advancements today that will improve the world we live in for generations to come.

I would like to live in a city, most probably St. Louis (in order to stay close to my Cardinals), though my future career could determine where I'll settle down.

Thanks for visiting!
